Applications

Duct is specified where a cable has to be protected and may need to be pulled, added to or replaced later. The silicore bore cuts friction so longer pulls are possible with fewer access pits, which matters on FTTH and backbone fibre routes. UV-stabilised wall lets duct sit exposed before trenching, and the coilable sizes reduce joints on long runs, and fewer joints mean fewer points of water ingress.

03Ordering & specifying

How to specify Telecommunication Ducts.

  1. 01Pick OD by the cable count and diameter you need to pull, plus spare capacity.
  2. 02Choose a silicore/pre-lubricated bore for long pulls; smooth bore for short, simple runs.
  3. 03Specify colour for the utility (orange is standard for telecom) and coil length to suit the route.
  4. 04Join with push-fit or compression connectors; seal ends to keep the duct dry.
  5. 05Confirm available sizes, colours and coil lengths with our team.

Not sure which class or size? Ask our engineers, and we will confirm the spec for your project.

Key benefits

01

Low-friction silicore bore for long cable pulls

02

UV-stabilised for road-crossing and trenched ducts

03

Coilable sizes reduce joints on long runs

Standards & certifications

Manufactured to standard, tested to confirm it.

This line is manufactured to PE80 / PE100, with quality control at material intake, in-line dimensional checks, hydrostatic testing and batch traceability.

We state conformance only for the lines we manufacture, and present products as built to KEBS-referenced standards. Where a KEBS mark applies to a line, the certificate is shown on the quality page.

05Frequently asked

Telecommunication Ducts, questions answered.

What is silicore duct and when do I need it?+

Silicore is a permanently lubricated inner skin that lowers friction, so cable pulls further with less tension. Use it on long fibre runs and anywhere access pits are limited; smooth bore is fine for short runs.

Can the duct be installed by directional drilling or open trench?+

Both. The HDPE wall takes the strain of pulling through bores and the loads of open-cut trenching and road crossings.

What colours and sizes are available?+

Orange is the standard telecom colour, with other colours for power and utilities. Typical sizes are 32 to 50 mm OD. Ask us for the exact size, colour and coil-length range.

How are duct lengths joined?+

With push-fit or compression couplers and end seals. No fusion equipment is required, which keeps field installation fast.
