Applications
Electrofusion is how HDPE is jointed where butt fusion is impractical: in trenches, on repairs, on branches and on smaller diameters. The control unit reads the fitting and runs the correct weld cycle, which takes the guesswork out and gives a consistent, recordable joint. Pairing the machine with our pipe and EF fittings means the whole jointing chain comes from one source and is known to work together.

03Ordering & specifying
How to specify Electrofusion Machines.
- 01Tell us the pipe sizes and fitting types you will be jointing.
- 02Confirm the site power supply (mains or generator) for the unit.
- 03We match the machine to the EF fittings and pipe class.
- 04Confirm exact models, capacity and any training needs with our team.
Not sure which class or size? Ask our engineers, and we will confirm the spec for your project.
Key benefits
Controlled weld cycle for consistent joints
Works in trenches, on repairs and on branches
Matched to our HDPE pipe and EF fittings
Standards & certifications
Manufactured to standard, tested to confirm it.
Components are fabricated to your drawing and inspected against the approved specification before dispatch, with full batch traceability.
We state conformance only for the lines we manufacture, and present products as built to KEBS-referenced standards. Where a KEBS mark applies to a line, the certificate is shown on the quality page.

05Frequently asked
Electrofusion Machines, questions answered.
What does an electrofusion machine do?+
It drives the heating coil inside an EF fitting through a controlled weld cycle, fusing the fitting to the pipe. The unit controls the cycle so the joint is consistent rather than left to operator feel.
When do I use electrofusion instead of butt fusion?+
On smaller diameters, in tight trenches, on repairs and on branch connections, where aligning a butt-fusion machine is impractical. Electrofusion works across the range.
Can you supply the machine, fittings and pipe together?+
Yes. Supplying all three from one source means the jointing chain is matched and known to work together.
